We have typewriters where students can try typing.

Younger students would do school work on slates which could be easily erased rather than wasting expensive paper

Nib pens and quills were used to write with ink. Students can try out both in our writing section




We have a range of different old fashioned irons for students to iron with

shaving gear included a shaving brush to apply shaving cream, a cut thoat razor, leather strop to sharpen the razor and shaving mug to hold the shaving cream.

Students will be able to try shaving a manikin with safety and cut throat razors (all blades are removed or blunt for safety)

We have multiple spinning tops for students to play with including this auger spinning top

One of the many examples of wooden toys commonly owned by small children in the 'olden days'.

Students can explore our range of wooden toys including cup and ball, spinning tops, wooden cars and trains and many more.

Ladies would put their wet hair in curlers and pump warm air into the hair cap to dry their hair into curls.

We have some small versions of a clothes wringer that was used to remove excess water from clothes after washing.
